The 54th Azores Rallye edition took place between March 21st and 23rd, and was opening another season of the FIA European Rally Championship, the Azorean Rally Championship and the second round of the Portuguese Rally Championship.
After the arrival of the ferry boat carrying the foreign and national teams, the Azores Rally week started with the usual Monday Test, scrutineering and teams presentation with a renovated city stage design in Ponta Delgada.
Again, with departure and arrival in Ponta Delgada, on the island of São Miguel, the 2019 Azores Rally edition keept the usual three-day scheme, but with several innovations in terms of special stages, that will be known later.
The itinerary for the Azores Rallye has been published along with the supplementary regulations for the event.
While it maintained a similar structure to previous years, a number of changes have been made for 2019.
The Azores Rally and his organizing Committee showed once again, concerns about environmental issues, as regards the treatment of waste and the importance of letting immaculate locations where he passes the rally.
This year and in close liaison and collaboration with the Regional Directorate of Environment, the organizer reinforced environmental actions, where it also includes the municipalities where the Rallye passed.
In addition to reinforcing the number of messages that passed through the official channels, either on the official website or on social networks, a greater number of garbage storage points has been installed in some locations of the Rallye stages.
